Ramadan: Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya Flags Off Welfare Distribution for Kano State Printing Press Staff
The Honourable Commissioner for Ministry of Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has presided over the flag-off and distribution of Ramadan empowerment and food support items to staff of the Kano State Printing Press, reaffirming the ministry’s commitment to workers’ welfare and institutional support.

Speaking during the event, the Commissioner described the Ramadan support initiative as an annual tradition entrenched by the current leadership of the agency to assist staff as they prepare for the fasting period in the holy month. He noted that the gesture reflects a culture of care, compassion, and shared responsibility within the organisation.
Comrade Waiya commended the management of the Printing Press under its Managing Director, Yahaya Mohammed Idris, for sustaining what he called a “commendable culture of humanity,” adding that such initiatives help strengthen unity, morale, and mutual respect among staff.
The event also featured the presentation of an Award of Honour to the Commissioner in recognition of his support and contributions to media development and public service.
In his response, he expressed deep appreciation for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to championing programmes and policies that prioritise staff welfare, professionalism, and stronger collaboration across the media and information sector in Kano State.
The Ramadan welfare distribution remains a key morale-boosting initiative of the agency, underscoring the government’s broader efforts to support workers and promote a culture of inclusiveness ahead of the fasting season.
