NUT RANO ZONAL COUNCIL HOLDS STRATEGIC MEETING IN KURA LGA
The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Rano Zonal Council, which comprises nine (9) local government areas in Kano State, held its zonal meeting on Sunday, 11th January 2026, in Kura Local Government Area. The meeting focused on key issues affecting the union and strategies to enhance the welfare and performance of teachers.

During the meeting, the National Vice President of the NUT, Comrade Muhammad Abubakar Hambali, emphasized the importance of organizing special meetings for Head Teachers and Principals. He said such forums would help in developing policies and action plans that will boost the activities of the union and improve teacher engagement. He stressed that this approach would foster greater understanding of NUT’s objectives among teachers.


Also speaking at the event, the State Social Secretary of the NUT, Comrade Bala Ali, urged the union to make better use of modern media platforms to publicize its activities. He explained that this would help counter false narratives and misinformation about the union. He added that increased media visibility would keep teachers informed of the NUT’s ongoing efforts and achievements.


The meeting was well attended by union executives from all the nine local governments under the Rano Zonal Council, reflecting a strong commitment to unity and progress within the teaching profession.
