Strengthening Markets for Ramadan — Kano Flags Off 2026 Trade Fair

The Honourable Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, joined his counterpart, the Honourable Commissioner of Commerce and Investment, Goni Shehu Wada Sagagi, alongside other government officials, at the launch of the 2026 Ramadan Trade Fair held at the Kano Trade Fair Complex in Kano.

The event, organised by the Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, is designed to support residents and boost local enterprises during the holy month, while ensuring that essential commodities remain accessible and affordable.

Speaking at the fair, the commissioners interacted with traders, manufacturers, and consumers, reaffirming the government’s commitment to fostering a stable and inclusive market environment. The engagement highlighted ongoing collaboration between public institutions and the private sector to cushion the economic demands that often accompany the Ramadan period.

The 2026 Ramadan Trade Fair will run throughout the fasting season, providing a diverse range of food items, household essentials, and locally produced goods to meet the needs of the people, while also creating opportunities for small and medium-scale businesses to expand their reach.
