OFFICIAL CONDOLENCE STATEMENT:
NUT KANO STATE WING MOURNS THE PASSING OF TWO KANO STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY MEMBERS
Kano, 28th December 2025
The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Kano State Wing, expresses profound grief and sorrow over the sudden demise of two esteemed legislators of the Kano State House of Assembly—Hon. Aminu Sa’ad Ungogo, Member representing Ungogo Constituency, and Hon. Sarki Aliyu Daneji, Member representing Kano Municipal Constituency—who passed away on 24th December 2025, after brief illnesses.
In a statement issued by the Chairman of the Union, Comrade Baffa Ibrahim Garko, the deaths were described as a significant loss to the people of Kano State, particularly at a time when both Honourable Members were actively contributing to the advancement of governance and development in their respective constituencies. Their dedication, service, and sense of duty will be deeply missed.
On behalf of the NUT National President, Comrade Audu Titus Amba, the SWEC, and the entire teaching community in Kano State, the Chairman extends heartfelt condolences to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Right Honourable Speaker and Members of the Kano State House of Assembly, the bereaved families, and the people of Ungogo and Kano Municipal over this painful loss.
The Union prays that Almighty Allah (SWT) forgives their shortcomings, rewards their good deeds, and grants them Aljannatul Firdaus. May Allah also comfort their families and give the entire Kano community the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.
