NUT Kura Distributes Ramadan Welfare Grant to Support Teachers
The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Kura Local Government Chapter, has disbursed Ramadan financial support to its members to assist them in preparing for the forthcoming fasting period.
The distribution took place during the union’s general meeting held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the NUT Kura Chapter expressed appreciation to members for their continued cooperation and support for the leadership. He reaffirmed the union’s commitment to prioritizing the welfare of teachers and implementing initiatives aimed at improving their well-being.
The chairman also conveyed special gratitude to Muhammad Hambali Abubakar, National First Vice President of NUT, commending his consistent support to the Kura chapter and congratulating him on his elevation from Second Vice President to First Vice President, describing him as a pillar of encouragement to the local union.
In his remarks, the Kura NUT Treasurer, Malam Shehu Haruna, advised teachers to utilize the funds judiciously for Ramadan preparations and family needs. Similarly, NUT Auditor I, Comrade Usman Abdul Malik Matawallen Kura, expressed delight over the gesture, thanking the leadership for the annual initiative which, he said, strengthens unity and solidarity among teachers.
Reports indicate that the Ramadan welfare scheme is part of NUT Kura’s ongoing efforts to enhance the welfare of its members, particularly during festive seasons and periods of religious observance.
