DIGITAL YOUTH RANGERS CONGRATULATES IBRAHIM WAIYA ON NIPR RECOGNITION
The Digital Youth Rangers (DYR), under the leadership of Asma’u Adamu, has congratulated the Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, on his emergence as the recipient of the Best Crisis Communicator Award presented by the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
The organisation described the honour as a timely recognition of the growing importance of responsible communication in an era where information travels rapidly and public opinion can be shaped within moments. DYR noted that effective crisis communication requires accuracy, discipline, responsiveness and the ability to communicate complex issues in a manner that promotes understanding rather than confusion.
According to the organisation, the recognition also highlights the need for public institutions to embrace modern communication approaches, particularly digital platforms, in reaching young people and other segments of society. DYR believes that transparent and accessible communication can help strengthen citizens’ participation, improve trust in public institutions and reduce the spread of misinformation.
Digital Youth Rangers commended the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations for acknowledging excellence in crisis communication and for encouraging higher professional standards among practitioners. The organisation said such recognition sends a positive message to young communication professionals and digital content creators about the importance of credibility, ethics and public responsibility.
