GREAT NIGERIA INITIATIVE CELEBRATES IBRAHIM WAIYA’S NIPR AWARD

The Great Nigeria Initiative (GNI), under the chairmanship of Alhaji Abdullahi Baba Yakasai, has extended its warm congratulations to the Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, on his conferment with the Best Crisis Communicator Award by the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

GNI views the recognition as a commendable testament to the value of purposeful communication in public service. In an environment where misinformation and competing narratives can easily create uncertainty, the ability to communicate with clarity, responsibility and composure is indispensable to effective governance and the preservation of public confidence.

The Initiative noted that crisis communication carries a unique responsibility, as the manner in which information is presented can either calm public anxiety or compound an already difficult situation. It therefore considers Waiya’s recognition by the NIPR a meaningful acknowledgement of the importance of professionalism and strategic thinking in public information management.

GNI also applauded the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations for recognising outstanding performance within the communication profession. According to the organisation, honouring practitioners who demonstrate excellence provides an incentive for others to embrace ethical standards, factual communication and a stronger commitment to the public interest.

The Great Nigeria Initiative, under the leadership of Alhaji Abdullahi Baba Yakasai, joins other well-wishers in celebrating Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya on this distinguished achievement. GNI wishes him continued success and greater impact as he contributes to strengthening communication, public awareness and constructive engagement in Kano State.

Signed:

Abdullahi Baba Yakasai

Chairman

Great Nigeria Initiative (GNI)
