Shekarau Dumps PDP, Returns to APC After Consultations

Former Kano State Governor, Ibrahim Shekarau, has formally defected from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and is set to rejoin the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Shekarau announced his decision on Sunday at his residence along Mundubawa Avenue in Kano, where the premises were visibly adorned with APC campaign posters. His defection comes after a series of consultations with key political allies, including members of his Shura committee, who unanimously endorsed the move back to the APC.
