SUBEB Distributes Motorcycles to Strengthen School Project Monitoring in Kano
Kano — The Kano State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has distributed motorcycles to its Zonal Deputy Directors to enhance effective monitoring of ongoing school construction and renovation projects approved by the Kano State Government.
The initiative is aimed at improving supervision, ensuring quality delivery, and enforcing strict compliance with contractual standards in project execution across the state.
Speaking during the distribution exercise, the Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Malam Yusuf Kabir, described the gesture as part of the Board’s broader commitment to strengthening basic education in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC). He noted that improved mobility would enable monitoring officers to carry out regular site inspections, particularly in remote areas, thereby ensuring projects are executed according to approved specifications.
Malam Kabir further assured the officers of the Board’s continued support through capacity-building trainings and other professional development initiatives designed to enhance efficiency and accountability in the discharge of their responsibilities.
The Chairman, however, warned against any form of greed, compromise, or inducement from contractors, stressing that such misconduct could result in substandard project delivery. He reiterated that SUBEB would not tolerate any violation of established regulations and standards.
The distribution of motorcycles underscores the Board’s resolve to promote transparency, accountability, and quality assurance in the ongoing development of basic education infrastructure in Kano State.
