SAFI APPLAUDS IBRAHIM WAIYA FOR NIPR BEST CRISIS COMMUNICATOR AWARD

The Save The Future Initiative (SAFI) extends its sincere congratulations to the Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, on his conferment with the Best Crisis Communicator Award by the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

SAFI considers the recognition a notable affirmation of the importance of professionalism, strategic messaging and responsible public engagement in contemporary governance. At a time when accurate information is critical to maintaining public confidence, effective communication remains an essential instrument for managing uncertainty and building constructive relationships between institutions and the communities they serve.

The Initiative acknowledges Comrade Waiya’s contribution to strengthening public information and facilitating communication between the Kano State Government and its citizens. His engagement with the media and the public, particularly on issues requiring clarity and sensitivity, reflects the value of having competent communication professionals within public institutions.

SAFI equally commends the NIPR for recognising excellence in crisis communication and for using its professional platform to promote higher standards within the communications sector. Such recognition, in our view, reinforces the principle that public communication should be guided by accuracy, responsibility, transparency and a clear commitment to the public interest.

We therefore celebrate Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya on this distinguished honour and encourage him to sustain the professionalism and dedication that have earned him this recognition. SAFI believes that continued investment in credible and responsible communication will contribute significantly to social stability, informed citizenship and effective governance.
