NUT Kumbotso Sponsors Teachers’ Marriage, Pays Dowry to Support Welfare
The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Kumbotso Local Government branch, has facilitated the marriage of two teachers and fully paid the dowry to support the union’s welfare initiative.
Speaking on the development, the NUT Chairman in Kumbotso, Comrade Sani, said the union took the step by paying the dowry for Malam Garba Sule, who married a fellow teacher, as part of efforts to encourage marital stability among teachers.
He explained that the initiative is aimed at boosting morale and promoting unity within the profession, particularly supporting female teachers who have lost their husbands and are left to care for young children and orphans.
Comrade Sani added that the union was delighted to witness the successful union between the teachers, describing it as a positive example of solidarity within the education sector in Kumbotso.
He prayed for peace, harmony, and prosperity in the couple’s new home.
