NUT Kano Sponsors Promotion Exercise for 1950 Teachers, Provides Refreshments and Materials for July 2026 Interviews
KANO, August 10, 2026 — The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Kano State Wing, has taken responsibility for providing essential materials and refreshments for teachers participating in the July 2026 promotion interviews organised by the Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board (KSSSSMB) and the Science and Technical Schools Board (STSB).
The union also provided all the necessary stationery, printing materials and other resources required for the production of promotional notification letters for teachers under KSSSSMB and STSB.
The initiative, according to the NUT Kano State Wing, is part of its continued commitment to supporting teachers’ career progression and welfare, particularly during the periodic promotion exercises conducted every six months.
The materials were presented to KSSSSMB and STSB by members of the NUT Promotion Committee. The delegation was led by the 2nd Vice Chairman of NUT Kano State Wing, Comrade Aminu Adamu, who represented the State Chairman, Comrade Baffa Ibrahim Garko.
Other members of the committee who accompanied him included Comrade Ubale Bala, 4th Vice Chairman; Comrade Shehu Badamasi Gora, National Representative; Comrade Umar Tijjani Isah, Managing Editor; Comrade Mustapha Sule Gaya, Senior Co-opted Member; and Comrade Auwalu Shuaibu Jae, Co-opted Member.
The delegation handed over the materials required for producing notification letters for secondary school teachers to the management of KSSSSMB and STSB, in line with the established practice of supporting teachers’ promotion exercises every six months.
Speaking after receiving the materials, the Director of Promotion and Discipline of KSSSSMB expressed appreciation to the NUT Kano State Wing for its continued support and contribution towards the successful conduct of the promotion exercise.
He disclosed that KSSSSMB was conducting promotion interviews for approximately 5,000 members of staff under the July 2026 promotion exercise.
The NUT Kano State Wing also provided refreshments for teachers and other participants attending the promotion interviews.
The Executive Secretary of the Board commended the interviewing officials and representatives of major education unions, including the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), for their cooperation, dedication and commitment to the successful conduct of the exercise.
He particularly appreciated their collective efforts in ensuring that the promotion interviews were conducted in a fair, orderly and credible manner.
The NUT Kano State Wing reaffirmed its commitment to promoting the professional development, career advancement and welfare of teachers across Kano State.
