NUT Applauds Kano Government for Timely Payment of Teachers’ Promotion Benefits

The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Kano State Wing, has commended the Kano State Government for the successful payment of teachers’ promotion benefits across the state.

The commendation was conveyed by the State Chairman of the union, Comrade Baffa Ibrahim Garko, who described the development as a significant milestone in strengthening teachers’ morale and enhancing the quality of education in Kano State.

According to Garko, the timely promotion of teachers and prompt payment of their financial entitlements play a crucial role in boosting their sense of belonging and professional fulfillment. “When teachers are promoted as and when due, and their financial benefits are paid promptly, it renews their motivation and ultimately improves the quality of education delivered in our schools,” he stated.

The union leader reaffirmed the NUT’s continued support for the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, acknowledging the government’s ongoing efforts to improve educational infrastructure, provide adequate learning materials, and enhance teachers’ welfare across the state.

Garko assured that teachers in Kano remain committed to reciprocating the government’s gesture through greater dedication, professionalism, and sustained delivery of quality education. He urged educators to remain steadfast in their duties and to continue supporting policies and programs aimed at uplifting educational standards in the state.

While expressing appreciation, the union also appealed to the state government to address the lingering issue of salary disparities affecting primary school teachers, noting that resolving the concern would further strengthen equity and morale within the education sector.
