The Nigeria First Movement has expressed delight over the selection of the Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, as one of the finalists in the Crisis Communicator category of the prestigious 2026 National Spokespersons Awards.

The movement described the development as a significant achievement not only for the Commissioner but also for Kano State, noting that the recognition reflects the growing impact of effective public communication and responsible information management in governance.

According to information released by the organisers, Comrade Waiya secured a place among the final three contenders after undergoing a rigorous assessment process conducted by an independent panel of communication experts and industry professionals. The evaluation reportedly focused on key indicators including communication effectiveness, crisis management capacity, public engagement, innovation, and measurable impact.

The National Spokespersons Awards is widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most respected platforms for recognising excellence in public communication, media relations, stakeholder engagement, and reputation management. The annual event celebrates individuals and institutions that have demonstrated exceptional competence in communicating with the public and managing information in both public and private sectors.
