Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf Inspects Tamburawa Water Treatment Plant to Address Water Supply Challenges

Kano State Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, on Tuesday afternoon paid an inspection visit to the Tamburawa Water Treatment Plant located in Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area of the state.

The visit formed part of the governor’s ongoing efforts to tackle the persistent challenges of potable water supply affecting several parts of Kano State. By visiting the facility personally, Governor Yusuf sought to gain first-hand knowledge of the operational condition of the plant and identify areas that require urgent attention.

Tamburawa Water Treatment Plant remains one of the major water supply facilities serving Kano metropolis and surrounding communities. Over the years, however, operational and infrastructural challenges have affected its optimal performance, leading to irregular water supply in some areas.

During the inspection, Governor Yusuf assessed the current state of the facility and interacted with officials responsible for its operations. The visit reflects his administration’s commitment to ensuring that critical infrastructure such as water treatment plants function effectively to meet the growing needs of the population.

Access to clean and safe drinking water remains a key priority for the Kano State Government, and the governor’s visit underscores the determination of the present administration to implement practical and sustainable solutions that will improve water supply across the state.

The inspection is part of a broader strategy by the government to rehabilitate and strengthen essential public utilities, with the aim of improving the quality of life for residents and supporting sustainable development throughout Kano State.
