CHAIRMAN OF DAWAKIN KUDU LGA, SANI AHMED MAIRAGO, COMMISSIONS RENOVATED LOCAL EDUCATION AUTHORITY HEADQUARTERS
“Education is the backbone of society.” On Tuesday, 30th December 2025, the Chairman of Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area, Hon. Sani Ahmed Mairago, officially commissioned the renovated Dawakin Kudu Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) headquarters, a project completed in record time.

Speaking during the event, Hon. Mairago noted that this is not his first intervention in education, as several schools have been renovated and provided with teaching and learning materials under his leadership. He further emphasized that Governor Alh. Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration is one that truly prioritizes education from the grassroots.
Comrade Baffa Ibrahim Garko, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Kano State, expressed gratitude and delight over the renovated education headquarters, acknowledging the commitment and efforts of Hon. Mairago in supporting education and teachers in the area.
Mairago reiterated his dedication to improving education infrastructure and supporting teachers, stating that his greatest desire is to uplift the standard of education by renovating schools and constructing new classrooms where needed.
Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of Warawa Local Government, Hon. Lamido Sunusi Ahmed, called on teachers to be dedicated and committed to their work while supporting the development of students.
Comrade Garko praised Mairago’s outstanding efforts and announced that NUT Kano State will honour him during the upcoming 2026 World Teachers’ Day celebration in recognition of his exceptional contributions, especially the LGEA headquarters renovation—an achievement yet unmatched by any other LGA.
The Chairman of NUT, Dawakin Kudu Branch, also gave a vote of thanks, appreciating the local government chairman for his unwavering support to education and teachers.
