PEOPLE OF KANO MUNICIPALITY, IT IS TIME TO OPEN OUR EYES AND REJECT PERSONAL POLITICS IN THE 2027 KANO GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION

As long as we are alive and conscious of the future of Kano State, every reasonable and forward-thinking citizen must pay close attention to the coming 2027 governorship election. We must do what is right for the progress and development of Kano, and resist any form of political selfishness driven by personal ambition rather than the collective interest of the people.
By the grace of Allah, Kano Central — particularly the ancient city of Kano — remains the area with the highest voting strength in the state, contributing almost over 46% of the total votes cast during Gubernatorial elections. Allah has blessed us with a Governor from within the city, from Gwale Local Government, Diso ward, a man whom the people of Kano have accepted because of his style of leadership and concern for the welfare of ordinary citizens.
Should personal political interests now become more important than the wishes and interests of the people of Kano?
THE GREAT BLESSING ALLAH HAS GIVEN US
– A Governor from Kano city itself
– One of our own
– A son of our neighborhood
– A son of our community
– Someone we relate to directly as brothers and family
PEOPLE OF KANO MUNICIPALITY
– For too long, we have sacrificed and endured hardship only to satisfy the political desires of others.
Considering the enormous blessing Allah has bestowed upon us, we must appreciate Him and also protect this governorship seat so that we are not politically sidelined in the next election.
WHAT EXACTLY IS GOVERNOR ABBA KABIR YUSUF’S OFFENCE?
– Abba Kabir Yusuf is a leader who has been executing projects across both urban and rural communities of Kano State. He has been fulfilling his responsibilities to the people who elected him by improving their welfare and prioritizing the payment of workers’ salaries and entitlements.
He is currently the only Governor in Kano State who has paid about ₦47 Billion in gratuity and pension liabilities within just three years — liabilities that previous administrations neglected despite funds meant for workers’ investments.
KWANKWASO AND ABBA: WHOSE INTEREST SHOULD COME FIRST?
– The real question is: should the interest of Kano people come first, or should Kano politics revolve around satisfying one individual’s personal ambition?
Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is now promoting former Deputy Governor Aminu Abdussalam as a possible governorship candidate from Kano North, claiming he is “trustworthy.”
But in reality, many people believe that he has neither demonstrated stronger leadership capacity nor better public relations and compassion toward the people than Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
If we fail to think carefully and strategically, we may end up politically marginalizing ourselves.
THEREFORE…
As we approach the next election, the people of Kano city must stand firm and protect their collective political interest. The people of Kano municipality should not allow themselves to be politically displaced or ignored in decisions that directly concern their future.
