A grand vision is only as strong as the hands that coordinate it. For His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, the “Kano First” agenda is a complex masterpiece of governance, involving massive infrastructure, a 30% education revolution, and a deep-rooted social contract with the people. Yet, in a state as dynamic and populous as Kano, even the best policies can become fragmented without a central point of unity.

That point of unity is Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the Honorable Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs. As we look toward the milestones of 2027 and beyond, it has become clear why he is the definitive Limamin Kano First the Unifier who ensures that every heartbeat of the state is in sync with the Governor’s mandate.

Kano is a land of many voices, the Ulama in the mosques, the traders in the markets, the actors on the screens, and the youth in the digital space. Without a central coordinator, these voices can become a noise of confusion. Comrade Waiya has turned that noise into a symphony. By building bridges to the religious community and professionalizing the state’s communication, he has ensured that “Kano First” is not just a government slogan, but a shared identity.

Beyond 2026,Securing the 2027 Legacy

As we move further into this administration, the challenges of political realignment and administrative friction will naturally arise. A “Limamin” is needed to provide direction and stability. Comrade Waiya’s advocacy for executive cohesion and his zero-tolerance for administrative sabotage have made him the “Guardian of the Mandate.” He understands that for the 11,222 polling units to remain loyal, they must see a government that is unified, transparent, and focused on their welfare.

The title “Limamin Kano First” is not just an honor; it is a functional necessity. It describes a leader who:

Harmonizes the work of all ministries to avoid overlapping or conflicting messages.

Mobilizes the grassroots through a structure that reaches every ward and registration area.

Protects the state from misinformation by modernizing our digital and traditional media.

Consults with the moral authorities (The Ulama) to ensure policy is rooted in our values.

History will remember the Abba Kabir Yusuf administration for its boldness the Metropolitan Rail, the 30% education benchmark, and the “Safe Nigeria” localization. But history will also record that these achievements were made possible because there was a coordinator who ensured the people understood, supported, and owned the vision.

Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya is more than a commissioner; he is the architect of synergy and the voice of the people. As the Limamin Kano First, he remains the indispensable link between the Governor’s office and the citizen’s heart. With his steady hand at the helm of coordination, the “Kano First” agenda is not just a plan for today it is a promise for a glorious future.
