SUBEB CHAIRMAN OFFERS EMPLOYMENT TO WOMAN WHO GAVE BIRTH DURING TEACHERS’ RECRUITMENT EXAM
On Sunday, January 11, 2026 ,the second day of the ongoing recruitment examination organized by the Kano State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) at various centers including Wudil, Dambatta, Doguwa, Bichi, and Audu Bako Secretariat . An incident occurred where a woman went into labor and gave birth at the exam venue.
The Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Alhaji Yusuf Kabir, offered her automatic employment after the emergency delivery took place at the Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, where she was sitting for the recruitment exam.
The unnamed woman, one of the teacher applicants, was visibly pregnant and reportedly went into sudden labor due to the commotion and overcrowding during the exam session.
Additionally, reports indicate that some other applicants sustained injuries, with a few suffering fractures due to the same unrest.
Following these incidents, SUBEB announced the postponement of the exam to a later date in order to address the challenges experienced at the examination centers.
