Police Arrest Two Suspects Over Fatal Stabbing in Dorayi, Vow to Arrest All Those Behind Cult Violence

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested two suspects in connection with the killing of a man during a clash involving suspected cult groups in Dorayi Garejin Kamilu area of Kano State.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at about 9:00 p.m., when suspected cultists reportedly engaged in a confrontation.

According to reports, the incident began when a resident entered an alley where some suspected cult members, who were allegedly not on good terms with him, attacked and injured him with a knife. After he escaped and returned to his associates, they reportedly retaliated, leading to another violent clash between the groups.

Speaking on the incident, the Kano State Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said police officers who responded to the scene found the body of a man who had been stabbed in the chest.

Kiyawa confirmed that two suspects had been arrested in connection with the killing, while efforts were ongoing to apprehend other individuals linked to the incident.

He assured residents that the Nigeria Police Force remained committed to maintaining peace and security across Kano State and the country at large.

The police spokesman also expressed appreciation for the cooperation and support being provided by residents of Dorayi to security agencies in their efforts to maintain peace and combat criminal activities.

The police further warned that anyone found to have played a role in the violence would be identified and brought to justice.
