Murtala Megaranti Assumes Duty at GSS Kawaji
On Wednesday, 11/02/2026, the newly posted Principal of GSS Kawaji, Comrade Murtala Megaranti, officially assumed duty with immediate effect. A formal handover was conducted between him and the outgoing acting Principal, the retired Malam Bala.
The handover ceremony took place within the premises of GSS Kawaji in the presence of the Nassarawa Zonal Education Director (ZED), representatives of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), teachers from GISS Dakata and GSS Kawaji, as well as the Fagacin Bichi, Alhaji Haruna Megaranti.
Speaking at the event, the Nassarawa Zonal Director, Alhaji Bello Dankade, delivered several remarks, advising teachers and the new Principal to work together in unity and maintain peace. He described Murtala Megaranti as a good and dedicated individual with a strong passion for educational development, adding that his commitment and effort were key reasons he was posted to GSS Kawaji.
Dankade also called on the PTA and SBMC to support the new Principal in uplifting the standard of the school and education generally. He further urged other teachers to cooperate fully with the new school head.
The Fagacin Bichi, Alhaji Haruna Megaranti, stated that Murtala Megaranti is his blood relative and, to his knowledge, a disciplined person who follows policy and believes strongly in fairness in all matters.
In his address, the Chairman of Nassarawa NUT, Comrade Nura Lawal Hassan, said the leadership of the school was entrusted to Murtala Megaranti because he currently serves as the NUT Secretary of the Nassarawa Branch. He assured that NUT would not disappoint teachers, stressing that the union is always ready to serve both primary and secondary school teachers.
He added that teachers should understand that NUT remains the only recognized union for primary and secondary school teachers, and urged them to desist from gossip and conflicts in schools.
Comrade Salisu Al Hassan, the Kano State PTA Secretary and NUT Treasurer, said the PTA is also ready to support the new Principal of GSS Kawaji and provide any necessary assistance. He further advised teachers to carry out their duties with honesty and integrity.
In his closing remarks, the new Principal of GSS Kawaji, Comrade Murtala Megaranti, expressed his gratitude to all teachers who accompanied him to his new place of assignment.
