Kano Assembly to Screen Six Commissioner Nominees Sent by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf

The Kano State House of Assembly has directed six commissioner nominees forwarded by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to appear before the legislature on Monday for screening.

The nominees were submitted by the governor for consideration and approval for appointment as members of the Kano State Executive Council.

The Speaker of the House, Jibrin Ismail Falgore, disclosed this after reading a letter from Governor Yusuf requesting the Assembly’s approval to appoint the nominees as commissioners.

The six nominees are Air Commodore Salisu Yushau (Rtd.), Dr. Sani Lawan, Ibrahim Namadi Dala, Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa, Idris Garba Mustapha, and Mukhtar Ishaq Yakasai.

The Assembly’s directive requires all six nominees to appear before the lawmakers on Monday to undergo the screening process, which is a key step towards their confirmation and subsequent appointment as commissioners.

If approved, the nominees will join the state executive council and contribute to the administration’s governance and policy implementation in Kano State.
