Governor Abba Pays Condolence Visit to Haruna Bashir
The Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, paid a condolence visit to Malam Haruna Bashir, whose entire family was killed in the Chiranci area.
On Wednesday, 21/1/2026, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, accompanied by his entourage, visited Malam Haruna Bashir to express his sympathy and condolences over the tragic incident in which his wife and six children were killed. The Governor paid the visit at their residence in Kofar Nassarawa.

Governor Abba expressed deep sorrow and concern over the inhumane and faithless act committed against the family of Malam Haruna. He made several promises to Malam Haruna Bashir, stating that the Kano State Government would cover the cost of his air ticket, upkeep, and accommodation in Saudi Arabia after a kind individual had already paid for his Umrah pilgrimage. The Governor also said that the government would pay for his Hajj seat for the 2026 pilgrimage.
Furthermore, the Governor added that the government would demolish Malam Haruna Bashir’s house in Chiranci and convert it into a mosque, while also providing him with another house in a suitable location as a form of support. Governor Abba advised Malam Haruna Bashir to put his trust in Allah, remain patient, and look forward to a time when he would remarry to ease his loneliness, assuring him that the government would sponsor the marriage.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf also called on the people of Kano to be vigilant and to respond promptly whenever they hear distress calls or unusual cries, stressing that it is their responsibility to render help.
Governor Yusuf stated that once the court concludes its proceedings, the government will ensure that justice is served promptly and fairly.
