GOVERNMENT GIRLS JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL BADUME STUDENTS UNDERTAKE EDUCATIONAL VISIT TO KANO POLICE HEADQUARTERS, COMMAND REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO YOUTH MENTORSHIP
The Kano State Police Command, under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, sfipma, mnim, mnips, masis, today hosted students and staff of Government Girls Junior Secondary School, Badume, Kano, on an educational visit and familiarization tour of the Command Headquarters, Bompai.
A total of one hundred and twenty (120) students participated in the visit, which was aimed at enhancing their understanding of police operations, promoting civic responsibility, and strengthening community-police relations.
Visit to Bompai Division: The excursion commenced at Bompai Division, where the students were introduced to the fundamental duties of a divisional police station. They were enlightened on incident reporting procedures, the role of the Charge Room, and the importance of maintaining law and order at the grassroots level.
Engagement at State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID): The visit proceeded to the State Criminal Investigation Department, where the students were addressed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of SCID and the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations. The senior officers emphasized the critical role of the Nigeria Police Force in ensuring national security and safeguarding lives and property. They further encouraged the students to remain law-abiding, disciplined, focused on their education, and to steer clear of crime, drug abuse, cultism, and other social vices that could jeopardise their future.
Interactive Session: The visit concluded with an interactive session during which the students had the opportunity to ask questions and gain deeper insights into police duties, career prospects in the Force, and the importance of partnership between the Police and the public.
The management of Government Girls Junior Secondary School, Badume, expressed profound appreciation to the Command for the warm reception, hospitality, and the impactful knowledge shared with the students.
CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori reiterated the Command’s commitment to youth mentorship, public enlightenment, and building trust with younger citizens in line with the community policing vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM. He urged students across the State to see the Police as partners in progress and to always report suspicious activities through appropriate channels.
