Driving the New Kano Forward: A Testament to Vision, Capacity, and Public Partnership

By Comrade Najeeb Nasir Ibrahim

In every administration, the true measure of progress is not merely in policy announcements but in the commitment, discipline, and sense of duty demonstrated by those entrusted with public responsibility. In the ongoing effort to reposition Kano for sustainable growth and effective governance, the role played by the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs stands out as a remarkable example of dedication in public service.

Under the leadership of His Excellency Abba Kabir Yusuf, the vision of building a people-centred government that places Kano first has been evident in both policy direction and administrative conduct. Within this framework, the Information Ministry has emerged as a strategic bridge between government and citizens, ensuring transparency, clarity of purpose, and public engagement.

The Commissioner, widely recognized for his experience and capacity, has shown not only competence in managing the responsibilities of his office but also a clear readiness to take Kano State to a new level of institutional communication and public trust. His proactive communication style, responsiveness to public concerns, and willingness to go beyond routine expectations continue to strengthen confidence in government messaging.

More importantly, his performance illustrates how experience, when matched with dedication and forward thinking, can transform an office into a driver of progress. From effectively articulating government policies to fostering constructive dialogue across stakeholders, his leadership reflects a deep understanding of the evolving demands of governance.

A Call for Collective Support

As Kano continues on this path of renewal and reform, it is important to recognise that government efforts alone cannot achieve the desired transformation. Sustainable progress requires the understanding, cooperation, and active support of citizens, community leaders, civil society, and the private sector.

I therefore call on the good people of Kano to continue supporting the administration of Abba Kabir Yusuf by embracing policies aimed at social development, promoting unity, and participating constructively in civic processes. Public trust and engagement remain the strongest pillars upon which meaningful governance is built.

With shared responsibility and a collective commitment to progress, Kano can fully realise its vision of inclusive growth, stronger institutions, and improved quality of life for all. Together, government and citizens can sustain the momentum toward a brighter and more prosperous future for our state.
