AOPSHON Kano: Gwale Election Declared Illegal, Legal Action Imminent
The Kano State Chapter of the Association of Primary School Head Teachers of Nigeria (AOPSHON) has officially disassociated itself from what it described as an illegal election purportedly conducted for the leadership of the Gwale Local Government branch.
The election, which reportedly took place on Wednesday, 24th June 2026, at Government Secondary School (GSS) Gwale, has been rejected by the state leadership of the association.
In a statement issued by the State Secretary, Comrade Bilkisu T. Abdulkadir, the association condemned the exercise, describing it as baseless and a clear violation of the constitutional provisions of AOPSHON.
She called on all Head Teachers in Gwale Local Government Area to disregard the outcome of the said election, stressing that it holds no legitimacy.
Comrade Abdulkadir further disclosed that the association is set to initiate legal proceedings against all individuals involved in organizing the unauthorized election, emphasizing that the process was conducted without the approval of the Kano State leadership.
She reaffirmed that the duly recognized executives inaugurated on 17th June 2026 remain the legitimate leaders of the Gwale Branch, under the leadership of Comrade Hassan Yahaya.
The association reiterated its commitment to upholding due process, unity, and adherence to its constitutional guidelines.
Signed:
Comrade Bilkisu T. Abdulkadir
State Secretary, AOPSHON Kano State Chapter
