AMATA Visits Commissioner Waiya, Reaffirms Support for Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf

The leadership and members of the Nigerian Amalgamated Traders and Artisans Welfare Development Association (AMATA), led by its Chairman, Alhaji Abdul’aziz Dalha Musa, on Tuesday, 10th February 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, to register their solidarity and support for His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

During the visit, the association reaffirmed its confidence in the Governor’s leadership and pledged continued support for the administration’s development initiatives across Kano State. The group also emphasized the readiness of traders and artisans to contribute meaningfully to peace, stability, and the economic growth of the state.

AMATA further pledged to mobilize widespread support for Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to ensure continuity in the administration, in the interest of sustained peace, development, and economic prosperity.

Responding, Commissioner Waiya informed the delegation that the Governor’s recent political decision to rejoin the APC was guided by the broader interest of Kano State and the need to strengthen ongoing development efforts. He highlighted various projects being executed across the 44 Local Government Areas as clear evidence of the administration’s commitment to improving livelihoods and expanding opportunities for residents, particularly the youth.

The Commissioner assured the association that traders and artisans remain key stakeholders in the state’s development agenda, adding that policies aimed at strengthening commercial activities would continue to receive due attention.

He commended AMATA for its resolve and solidarity visit, appreciating the group’s renewed support for Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and its commitment to collaboration in advancing the collective interest of Kano State.
