KSSSMB Commences January 2026 Promotional Interview Exercise, NUT supports

The Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board (KSSSMB) has commenced its January 2026 Promotional Interview Exercise for eligible staff, marking another significant step toward strengthening human resource development in the education sector.

The three-day exercise, scheduled to run from Tuesday, 3rd February to Thursday, 5th February 2026, recorded an impressive turnout of candidates and has been progressing smoothly across all interview panels.

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Rabiu Sale Gwarzo, paid monitoring visits to the various panels, where he expressed satisfaction with the high level of organization, transparency, and orderliness observed throughout the process.

While addressing members of the panels, Alhaji Gwarzo commended the Executive Governor of Kano State, His Excellency Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, for his unwavering commitment to the development of the education sector. He highlighted the Governor’s consistent support for teachers’ welfare and his determination to ensure that eligible staff receive their promotions as and when due.

According to him, the Abba Kabir Yusuf–led administration has continued to foster confidence, stability, and progress within the education system, serving as a driving force for sustained improvement across the sector. He further urged staff to uphold the values of honesty, integrity, accountability, and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.

In his remarks, the Director of Promotion and Discipline, Alhaji Abubakar Mukhtar, expressed appreciation for the Executive Secretary’s steadfast support for staff welfare and his fair and inclusive leadership style, which promotes transparency, equity, and staff participation. He noted that these qualities have enhanced effective administration within the Board. He also applauded the Kano State Government for its continued investment in education and human capital development.

The Director of Promotion stated that the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) has brought great honor to the Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board (KSSSSMB) by taking responsibility for providing notification letters to all teachers. He therefore expressed appreciation to NUT Kano, adding that KSSSSMB will continue to stand with NUT forever.

Participants in the exercise expressed gratitude to the Board and the State Government for the opportunity, while offering prayers for a successful and transparent outcome.

The overall success of the exercise was further supported by the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) and ANCOPSS. NUT provided refreshments, meals, and materials for printing notification letters for all 2,300 promoted teachers.
