Persons with Disabilities Group Reaffirms Support for Gov. Yusuf in Kano
Executive members and coordinators of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Persons with Disabilities Support Organization from Kano State’s 44 local government areas have paid a solidarity visit to the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, reaffirming their unwavering support for Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The visit, which took place on Tuesday, was aimed at restating the group’s confidence in the governor’s leadership and his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance. The organization, which serves as the umbrella body for APC members with disabilities across the state, described the engagement as a demonstration of the growing political awareness and active participation of persons with disabilities in Kano’s democratic process.
The delegation was led by Hon. Adnan Ali Daneji, former Special Adviser on Disability Matters, alongside other leaders of the disability community. Speaking on behalf of the group, Daneji pledged their continued loyalty to the Yusuf administration and expressed their readiness to mobilize support across the state to ensure the success of the government’s developmental agenda.
Receiving the delegation, Comrade Waiya commended the organization for its unity, dedication, and political consciousness, noting that their show of solidarity reflected confidence in Governor Yusuf’s vision for Kano State.
He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, stressing that every citizen—regardless of social, political, or economic background—has a role to play in the state’s development.
The commissioner also assured the group that their proposal to organize a mega conference bringing together persons with disabilities from all 44 local government areas would receive due consideration and necessary government support.
He concluded by reiterating the government’s resolve to build a Kano State where no one is left behind.
