Kwalliya Ta Biya Kuɗin Sabulu Calls for Periodic Review of Political Appointments in Kano State
The leadership of Kwalliya Ta Biya Kuɗin Sabulu, a socio-political organization committed to promoting accountability, responsible leadership, and constructive democratic engagement in Kano State, wishes to address the ongoing public conversations surrounding governance and the performance of political office holders in the current administration.
As an organization that believes strongly in good governance, we consider it necessary from time to time to offer constructive observations that may contribute to strengthening the effectiveness of government institutions and public service delivery.
Since assuming office, the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has raised significant expectations among the people of Kano State. The government came with a strong mandate and a clear promise to improve key sectors such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and social welfare. These expectations remain high, and the people continue to look forward to tangible outcomes that reflect the vision of the administration.
However, it is also important to acknowledge that governance is a collective responsibility. The success of any government does not depend solely on the vision of the governor, but also on the performance, commitment, and capacity of those entrusted with political and administrative responsibilities.
From our careful observations, it is evident that while some political office holders have demonstrated dedication and commendable effort in advancing the goals of the administration, others appear yet to fully meet the expectations associated with the responsibilities of their offices.
In every democratic system, periodic evaluation of public officials is a normal and necessary practice. Such reviews are not intended to undermine individuals but rather to ensure that government institutions remain effective, responsive, and aligned with the needs of the people.
In this regard, Kwalliya Ta Biya Kuɗin Sabulu respectfully encourages the consideration of a strategic cabinet review or reshuffle where necessary. Such a step can strengthen governance by ensuring that the right individuals occupy positions where their competence, energy, and commitment can best serve the public interest.
Kano State is blessed with a large pool of experienced professionals, technocrats, and committed political actors who possess the expertise required to support the government in delivering its developmental agenda. Creating opportunities for capable individuals to contribute will undoubtedly enhance policy implementation and administrative efficiency.
Our call should therefore be understood as a constructive contribution aimed at strengthening governance, not as an attempt to create political tension or division. Strong governments are those that are open to reflection, improvement, and strategic adjustment when necessary.
The people of Kano State deserve a government that continuously strives for excellence and remains focused on delivering visible improvements in their daily lives.
Signed
Honourable Adamu Abdullahi (PA)
