Kano Education Commissioner Makoda Appointed APC Campaign DG for Kano North Ahead of 2027 Elections
KANO, Nigeria — The Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has appointed the State Commissioner for Education, Gwani (Dr.) Ali Haruna Abubakar Makoda, as Director-General (DG) for Kano North Senatorial District in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential and Gubernatorial Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The appointment was conveyed in a letter dated October 21, 2026, and signed by Governor Yusuf in his capacity as Chairman of the Kano State Presidential and Gubernatorial Campaign Council.
According to the letter, Makoda was selected for the position in recognition of his experience, capacity and expected contribution to the party’s campaign activities ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Governor Yusuf congratulated the commissioner on his appointment and expressed confidence in his ability to discharge the responsibilities assigned to him.
The governor also urged Makoda to carry out his duties with dedication and commitment while collaborating with other members of the campaign council to achieve the party’s objectives.
Makoda currently serves as Kano State Commissioner for Education, where he is responsible for contributing to the formulation, administration and implementation of education policies across the state.
His new appointment places him at the helm of coordinating the APC’s presidential and gubernatorial campaign activities across Kano North Senatorial District as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The appointment comes amid growing political activities and strategic preparations by parties and their stakeholders ahead of the next electoral cycle.
