The management of Government Secondary School (GSS) Unguwar Gano, in collaboration with the school’s Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), has inaugurated a group of students to serve as Khuddamul Masajid (Student Mosque Service Volunteers). The initiative was launched under the leadership of the Principal, Comrade Auwal Yalwa, with the full support of the PTA executive.
Speaking during the inauguration, Dr. Nasir Mansur Rudwan explained that the selected students were appointed to serve both the school mosque and worshippers during prayer times. He noted that the Khuddamul Masajid programme was introduced to instill discipline, responsibility, and Islamic values in students by teaching them the importance of serving Islam, particularly through activities in the mosque.
Dr. Rudwan further emphasized that the initiative is designed to nurture students with sound moral character while encouraging active participation in religious and community service.
In his remarks, the Principal, Comrade Auwal Yalwa, stated that the appointed students would be responsible for providing ablution water for fellow students before prayers and ensuring that every Muslim student observes the prescribed prayers before the close of the school day.
He added that the programme reflects the school’s commitment to promoting moral excellence, religious discipline, and leadership among students, while strengthening the culture of service and responsibility within the school community.
