Gov. Yusuf Begins Distribution of Land Allocation Documents to Over 2,000 Political Appointees in Kano
Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has commenced the distribution of land allocation documents to political appointees serving under his administration in a move aimed at rewarding dedication, promoting home ownership, and enhancing the welfare of government supporters.
The distribution exercise, which began on Saturday at the Government House in Kano, covers Senior Special Assistants (SSAs), Senior Special Reporters (SSRs), Special Assistants (SAs), Special Reporters (SRs), Personal Assistants (PAs), and other categories of beneficiaries.
Representing the governor at the ceremony, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Farouk Umar Ibrahim, said the initiative fulfills Governor Yusuf’s pledge to recognize the commitment and contributions of individuals who have played key roles in the administration’s success.
He explained that the programme goes beyond the allocation of plots of land, describing it as a strategic intervention designed to promote home ownership, reduce the housing deficit, and empower beneficiaries to build lasting assets for themselves and future generations.
According to him, more than 2,000 beneficiaries are expected to receive land allocation documents during the two-day exercise. The beneficiaries include political appointees, polling agents, and members of the Dangwale group, reflecting the administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and social empowerment.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Land and Physical Planning, Abduljabbar Muhammad Umar, described the exercise as a landmark initiative that demonstrates the government’s resolve to improve citizens’ living standards through increased access to land and housing opportunities.
He noted that the allocation of plots would provide many beneficiaries with their first opportunity to own land, laying a solid foundation for future home ownership, economic stability, and long-term financial security.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the Kano State Government, describing the gesture as timely and impactful. They said the allocation would not only improve their economic prospects but also strengthen their commitment to public service and the continued development of Kano State.
